Local H is an American alternative rock duo from Illinois built around singer, guitarist, and songwriter Scott Lucas, known for a massive two-piece sound that mixes grunge, hard rock, punk, indie rock, and sardonic lyricism. The band broke through with the 1996 album As Good as Dead and its signature single “Bound for the Floor,” alongside fan favorites such as “Eddie Vedder,” “High-Fiving MF,” and “Fritz’s Corner.” Later albums including Pack Up the Cats, Here Comes the Zoo, Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles?, Hey, Killer, and Lifers expanded their catalog with tracks such as “All the Kids Are Right,” “Hands on the Bible,” “California Songs,” and “The Misanthrope.” Local H’s unusual setup, with Lucas using a modified guitar to produce both guitar and bass signals, has remained central to the band’s heavy, stripped-down identity.
