Screeching Weasel is an American punk rock band formed in the Chicago suburbs in 1986 by Ben Weasel and John Jughead. Led by vocalist and songwriter Ben Weasel, the band helped shape modern pop punk with fast, Ramones-inspired melodies, irreverent lyrics, and influential albums including My Brain Hurts, Anthem for a New Tomorrow, and Bark Like a Dog. Despite numerous lineup changes and periods of inactivity, Screeching Weasel has remained an active touring and recording act, releasing later albums such as Some Freaks of Atavism and The Awful Disclosures of Screeching Weasel.
